Camerawork - photo storyboard.

Camera Shots/ Angles:

We picked a wide/establishing shot as it is a good shot to open the scene. So we used this shot to show the audience our scene.

We then used a long shot to emphasise that the character is lonely and makes the audience feel sorry for  him

The medium shot shows us the head to the shoulder and shows us  that the boy is sad and makes the audience feel sympathetic  him

The close up shoot implies how the character is feeling as he has  just got bullied and makes him feel like he doesn't want to go to school anymore

Mise-en-scene Stranger Things analysis.

PROPS
the most important prop was the board game as most of the clip was the teenagers playing the board game which can show you the television drama is very old. As nowadays kids play on electronics and not board games

lighting: The beginning of this video is in a lab. The denotation of the light flicking on and off is used efficiently to connote that there is going to be a danger. Throughout the whole video, the light is always dim or it is completely dark. This darkness connotes evil and gives an eerie vibe. The consumer will know from the denotations that this series is full of evil, monsters and other dark characteristics.

Setting/Actors: The series is set in the 1980s but is about teenagers. This has purposely been done to attract a wide age range audience. This is because older people will be able to relate to the setting and what the kids are playing/doing but at the same time teenagers will be able to relate to the character's feelings and actions.

Blog feedback and Learner Response.

WWW: Your Key Concepts film poster analysis is a good piece of work – clearly researched and engaging with elements of the text. We need more work like this!

>EBI: Unfinished work is the major issue – this suggests a lack of care and attention that you need to urgently address if you want to achieve your full potential. You haven’t completed the final question on the initial 10 question blog task (on the female Doctor) and you haven’t completed the analysis of your own advert for denotation and connotation. I’m delighted you’re aiming for a grade 7 or 8 in Media but unless your organization and attention to detail improves then it’s unlikely to happen.

LR: Complete the unfinished work. Then, reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course? How can you improve the depth and detail of your media analysis?
`` LR: I think my strongest piece of work was Key Concepts film poster analysis as I have watched the film a couple of times and I have done some research about it. I think the weakest piece of work was the fruit bowl as I have never used photoshop and it took a lot of time to get confident in photoshop.
I have completed the final question on the initial 10 question blog task (on the female Doctor) and I have finished the analysis of your own advert for denotation and connotation.
